My First Few Inches Forward on the Road

When I had my driving lessons, I was really scared and didn’t know what to do. I have already read all the traffic rules and consulted some driving experts I know to get some tips on driving but everything seems to be not enough to make me feel better. Maybe it’s because of the trauma I had for an accident that my cousin and I almost met when I was 10. Or maybe it’s because my eyes are so weak – weak but not as bad that requires refractive surgery.

But then, I am left with no choice because I can’t have my VISA approved without a driver’s license. So the first day of my lessons came and I had no choice but to face my fears. My first try wasn’t actually bad. I was really nervous but I managed to make the car move several inches forward. My instructor even told me that I was good as a first timer. I was really proud of myself!

From then on, my driving class was something that I looked forward to everyday. Well, my classes ended in a few days and now I’m left with a driver’s license and no fears on the road and my VISA too.

Saving or Spending More

There are people who are claiming that getting a car is an investment. However, others say otherwise because the value of cars depreciates like crazy. Now I’m wondering if getting a car will really let you save more money or will it just expose you to more financial risks. In my own opinion, when you get a car, you will definitely spend more money as compared to taking the public transportation. However, you are paying more for convenience and safety.

If there’s something that you can save in having your own car then it would be time. You can go to any place at any time that you want with your car. Just imagine if you badly need to go to a place and you have to wait for a bus for ten more minutes. People have different views about getting a car but I think that having a car in today’s world is definitely a must. It’s not about spending more or saving more but rather is it a need?

Discount Gas Cards

When gas prices were one dollar a gallon, you rarely heard anyone complaining about the gas prices. Once they hit that three dollar a gallon mark, it seemed like the whole country went mad. Like anything in life, there are plenty of ways to save money on gas. Below, we’ve listed a few ways on how you can save money so you don’t have to pay the full price at the pump.

Check the Internet

The Internet is filled with a ton of information, you basically have the world at your fingertips. There are plenty of web sites out there that will show you how much gas is in your area. Believe it or not, a few miles can make a difference when it comes to a price per gallon. Check web sites like gasbuddy and gaspricewatch when it comes to checking out gas prices in your area. When you find a cheap price, make sure you drive or make way for that gas station.

Target the poor areas

If you live in a fairly moderate neighborhood, you may want to jump to the other side of town and go to that gas station. Make sure that neighborhood is safe before you fill up. The reason poorer areas have cheaper gas is due to the property taxes, etc. Poorer areas generally have lower taxes, therefore making gas prices a lot cheaper than the wealthy areas.

Sign up for for a wholesale club

Places like CostCo and Sam’s Club always have cheaper gas that the mainstream gas stations. This is because of their membership fees. In order to fill up with gas at these gas stations, you’re going to have to have a membership to fill up. Sometimes you may find that these memberships pay off for you in the long run because of the savings. Other than saving on gas, you’ll also find that the prices of goods in the store pay off as well.

Consider a discount gas card

As mentioned in the title, this is probably the best way to save on gas. There are so many credit card offers out there, some people forget to realize that there are ways to save money on gas. A gas rebate credit card generally allows you save about five percent per gallon. This may not sound like a lot but this is five cents per dollar. If gas is at three dollars a gallon, you’re saving fifteen cents a gallon! As you can imagine, this can add up quite quickly.

Use your imagination when it comes to saving on gas. Other ways to find out how to save on gas are local gas price wars, where the owners will compete by lowering their gas prices, look for cash only gas stations as these gas stations offer lower prices, and another way is to look for coupons. Yes, gas stations sometimes do offer gas coupons. There are a ton of ways to save on gas and you shouldn’t be paying full price for your gas anymore. By: Tom Tessin

a Brief History of Cars

The history of cars goes way back, more than you would probably imagine. Of course the first car ever was nothing like the cars of today. For the most of early car, sources are so poor we can’t even say for sure if they worked. So the first two cars are not confirmed but the general consent about the first car in the car history exists. In 1672 Ferdinand Verbiest builds the first steam powered car.

It took a long time for the next major breakthrough to occur. In 1806 Isaac de Rivaz makes first internal combustion engine. And almost a whole century later, in 1881 Gustave Trouvé builds a working three wheeled automobile that runs on internal combustion engine. From then on, car history and car development stepped up a bit.

In 1885 one of the “legends” from the car history first made appearance. Karl Benz built his first car and in In the next 8 years he sold 25 cars. This is also the time when Daimler and Maybach started their car bussines.

In 1893 Karl Benz makes first four-stroke engine and four years later Rudolf Diesel builds the first diesel engine. In 1902 Daimler and Maybach produce first car under the name Mercedes. This is also the year when the first Oldsmobile is produced.

Oldsmobile was the first car manufacturer in the car history to use some sort of assembly line in car production. This line was later improved to the max by Henry Ford. In 1914 Ford car came off the line every three minutes! By the 1930 most of the car companies that did not have production-line manufacturing disappeared. This was the end of the first era in the car history. Today there are a lot more fast cars that are being produced and as well as car parts and accessories like discount tires. The evolution of cars continues and it is expect to grow even more in the next years. By: Mick Call
